I took this photo a while ago in the hopes of developing it for the April challenge. I knew I wanted to play with the designs in the openings, but not just leave them so symmetrical. I also wanted to play with color. I have made a few sketches, and today I finally started the project with fabric.
This is just the start. I have some other fabric pulled to build more color. I used KF Targets as the peek-a-boo fabric, and I like the way the design stayed in the background. It gives me the feeling I wanted of looking through a fence at something hidden, but wonderful. I don't want to lose that when I add on, so I am going to look at it for a while before proceeding.
Now that is cool.
ReplyDeleteI have to apologize because I have been so distracted and slow with participation. My mom is in her last days and I have been elsewhere, not where I want to be in front of my sewing machine.
glen : soon.........
Gosh, I forgot about mine!!
ReplyDeleteIntriguing ... love all the irregularities.
ReplyDeleteBeen busy & unable to put time into my piece.
Interesting to see that circle fabric show through the ovals, but at first glance I saw holiday ornaments! That kind of double image has fascinated me ever since I first saw the "What do you see, the vase or the faces?" silhouette. Love it so far!
ReplyDeleteIt's great so far. It does make you want to get a better look through one of those "holes" to see what's behind!
ReplyDeletethis is great! Can't wait to see what other wonderful things you do to it.
