Practical and pretty

These orphan blocks were constructed LONG ago
with some very thin fabric.

I knew it wouldn't be the best to include them in a quilt...
but I did want to get them out of hiding!!!

So I made some table mats for the senior lunch I serve twice a month.

I know my friends there will enjoy these homemade centerpieces.

And I WILL too!!!

  1. Great Job! I have a few orphans (sic) lying around the sewing room! LOL. I will work on some when I get back from the retreat this weekend!

    Aren't you jealous?

glen: in the country, no phones, no dogs, no cats in my lap, no husband, no cooking, no cleaning! LOL

  2. Wahoo! yes, I dug out another that I thought wold be fun to play with... Couldn't resist! These are fun! nice to share!

  3. My, but you girls work fast! It's barely March and here you are quilted and bound already. Wonderful!!!
(Bet glen will have a trunkful done by Tuesday)

  4. What a very nice idea. These will make each meal brighter.

  5. A colorful and lovely up-cycle, Beth ... I'm still on the 'find a block step'

  6. These are great! I can't stand not using something, especially if it's already partly finished, so this challenge is a good one for me. Now, if only I wasn't so far behind, I could get started!
